Staff: Bradley K. SmithAssistant Director & Archivist
Assistant Director and Archivist
Bradley worked for 17 years in various roles for the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission. He has been affiliated with the Berks History Center since 2016, and he is currently the center’s Assistant Director, Archivist, and a Pennsylvania Dutch language teacher. In addition, he has been an Adjunct History Professor at Alvernia University, since 2005. While Bradley was raised in Lebanon County, his father’s family has lived in Berks County since the early 1700s, and his Grandfather Smith grew up within walking distance of the Berks History Center. A number of artifacts in the Berks History Center’s collection once belonged to his ancestors, but one stands out as his favorite: the tombstone of his great x 8 grandfather, Abraham Levan (1698-1779), was incorporated into the foundation walls of the Berks History Center when the building was erected in 1928.
