Reading Fire Company The perennially popular history of the Reading Volunteer Fire Department history book, compiled and written by the Federal Writers' Project of the W.P.A. in 1938. The volume has some 260 pages and measures about 6 by nine inches. Each of the companies that existed as individual entities in 1938 is detailed with a rather complete history, based on each company's minute books. There are numerous, fine illustrations.
