Youth Summer Craft Workshop Series

Youth ages 7 - 14 are invited to attend the Summer Craft Workshop Series presented in the new Education Room at the Historical Society. The workshops follow the theme of our current exhibit, World Wars 1 and 2: Berks County On the Homefront, We Stood United. Cost per child is $4 per workshop ($3 for 1776er members).

Please write the child's name on a piece of paper, along with your phone number and the child's age. Mail the information along with a check payable to HSBC.

Hendel House Mansion Open to the Public

The Hendel House is open to the public every second Saturday, 11:00AM - 4:00PM.

The Historical Society will be hosting a neighborhood block party to meet and greet our neighbors. Everyone is welcome. Free hotdogs and hamburgers while they last along with a variety of interesting presentations including: a period clothing photo-op, high wheeler bicycle demonstration, a black powder cannon shoot, face painting and tattoos, an antique barrell organ demonstration, Engine 11, a DJ and music, and much more. The museum will be open for free tours. The event will be held July 18, 12 PM to 3 PM.


JP Feeney Presents Music in Centre Park

Sunday evenings, 6 - 8 PM, beginning July 26. An eight week festival of live music in Centre Park sponsored by John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc. Bring blankets or lawn chairs; refreshments will be available at a nominal charge. Admission is free. All the makings for a relaxing summer evening.


OPENING OF Berks County Longrifles and Gun Making - 1750 to 1900 EXHIBIT

If you own a Berks County longrifle, pistol, powder horn, hunting bag, or gun barrel or any related Berks County gun making tools (ca 1750 - 1900) and would like to display the item (or simply have it photographed for historic archives, contact Patrick Hornberger, Guest Curator of the HSBC and IOWC exhibits at 410-476-4445 or email: eastwind@hughes.net. "Ragtime Willie" Fundraiser

The 23nd Annual Arts & Antiques Fair
